UPCOMING RUNS:

COMING UP IN FEBRUARY, 2012:
  • THIS WEEK - February 19th - Meet at our regular location at Redtown Trailhead at Cougar Mountain Park. 10-14 miles.
  • Feburary 26th - Tiger Mountain - Meet at the High Point trailhead for the Montrail Demo Run! There will be several groups running 3-11 miles. You will have an opportunity to run in Montrail's new models (shoes, that is).
Following the run, there will be a trail work party for those who would like to volunteer. There is still clean up from the recent winter ice storm.

  • The SRC Sunday Run is usually at Cougar Mountain. We generally run between 8 and 14 miles starting and finishing at Red Town Trailhead. Start time is 7:30 AM. A wide range of paces is typical.

Seattle Running Club has a MeetUp.com group to coordinate communication among Sunday run participants. We hope that this will help people stay updated on the location of each run, find carpooling partners, etc. Let us know what you think! Questions and comments about this and other Sunday run issues may be sent to trip leaders Win Van Pelt (winv@johnlscott.com) and Blair Williams (a54u2@msn.com).

Directions to the Redtown trailhead are as follows:
From I-90 Eastbound: Take the Lakemont Boulevard SE (Exit 13) exit. Head south (turn right) for about 3.0 miles on Lakemont Boulevard SE. The parking lot will be on your left.
From I-405: Take Exit 10 and follow Coal Creek Parkway east for 2.4 miles to the shopping center. Turn left at the light onto SE 72nd Place. At the stop sign, turn left onto Newcastle Road. Just after Newcastle turns into Lakemont Boulevard SE, look for the parking lot on your right.

Club member Jim Norton has created a great map of the usual Cougar Mountain loop and some of its variations. Feel free to print out this PDF file and bring it to the mountain!
